If you go to the terraces I recommend you take the bus directly to the terraces and skip Longsheng completly. There is really nothing in Longsheng worth seeing. The terraces, however, are fantastic. It is perhaps the prettiest day hike I have ever taken, not the most grand or spectacular, just pretty. It reminded me of the Hobit town in JRR Tolken's, "The Hobbit."
